If the fourth quarter is the place where district titles are won, then Zachary High School coach David Brewerton had to like what he saw in Friday night’s 27-7 victory at Live Oak.

Zachary was back on its heels early in the fourth after Live Oak grabbed some late momentum. The Eagles only trailed by six and had the ball on the Broncos’ side of the field.

Showing the grit of a proven power, Zachary went on a late 14-0 run to secure victory in the District 4-5A opener for both teams.

“You can tell when our kids are in tight games. They feel like they are going to win those games,” Brewerton said of his eighth-ranked Broncos. “That comes from all the close wins we’ve had over the years. We dominated the fourth quarter. That’s all I can ask for.”
