And so it goes on: District 4-5A rivals Scotlandville, Zachary look to add to their rivalry saga

  • Scotlandville and Zachary high schools weren’t rivals in the truest sense until three years ago.
  • The teams met two times in 2014 and the Broncos won twice, including a victory in the Class 5A quarterfinals.
  • In 2016, the teams combined for 987 yards, but it was a fumble recovery in the end zone that gave Zachary a 49-46 win. From there, the Broncos went on to win the Class 5A LHSAA title. Scotlandville won 24-21 a year ago and was the Division I runner-up.
  • Now fifth-ranked Scotlandville (7-0, 4-0) travels to No. 9 Zachary (6-2, 4-0) for a District 4-5A game that highlights the Week 9 football schedule.
