Coach David Brewerton

Coach David Brewerton begins his 7th year at ZHS as our Head Coach. David Brewerton is a native of Baton Rouge where he graduated from Catholic High School.

He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies at Louisiana State University in 1998. He also earned a Masters Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2004. Brewerton served as an assistant football and wrestling coach at Redemptorist High School from 1998-2003. During his tenure at RHS he was a part of 2 football state titles and 5 wrestling state titles.

Coach Brewerton also coached at both Catholic Pointe Coupee and Jesuit High School before taking the Head Coaching position at Livonia High School in 2007. While at Livonia the team reached the quarter-finals, semifinals and state-finals in a three year run. David was voted the Class AAA Coach of the Year by the Louisiana Sports Writer’s Association in 2012.

At ZHS, Coach Brewerton has a 6-year record of 72-14, including 5 District Championships, 3 State Semifinal appearances in 2014, 2016 and 2019 and 3 State Championships Titles in 2015, 2017 & 2018. He has been voted Louisiana Coaches Association Coach of the Year twice, in 2017 and 2018 as well as Tiger Rag Coach of the Year for 2018. Coach Brewerton and his wife Casey have a 8-year old son: Gable
