Coach Dru Nettles

Coach Dru Nettles begins his 4th year as wide receiver’s coach at ZHS. Dru is a 1989 graduate of Denham Springs High School where he was a three-year Letterman in football and a four-year Letterman in baseball, playing on the 1986 State Championship team. He earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology and Health, from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1994. At Southeastern he was four-year Letterman in baseball and a member of both the 1992 TAAC Championship and West Regional Teams. His coaching career includes positions at Denham Springs High School (15 yrs) and Wood lawn High School (8 yrs). At Wood lawn he was Head Baseball/Assistant Football Coach with 4 District Championships and 1999 State Runner Up from 1998-2002 and then Athletic Director/Head Football coach from 2002-2005 winning one district championship in 2002.  He was the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director at Denham Springs HS from 2005-2016. Coach Nettles’s experience at ZHS has included a State Semifinal appearance in 2016, and 2 State Championships Titles in 2017 & 2018. Coach Nettles is married to Shannon Stout.  Between them they have five children, Sarah Stout, Cameron Stout, Will Stout, Claire Nettles and Faith Nettles.
