Coach Eric Ortego is beginning his first year as the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator, where he will directly oversee the physical development of all the teams at Zachary High School.
Prior to joining the Staff, he was a Strength and Conditioning Coach within the Cleveland Indians Baseball Organization for three seasons. He spent the previous three years as the Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning at McNeese State University.
Ortego earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in May 2012 and a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in December 2013. He was also a college baseball player at LSU-Eunice, where he was part of the 2008 NJCAA National Championship team.
Eric is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
